April Randall is an artist and sailor who lives aboard a sailboat with her boyfriend and dog, embracing the natural beauty of the San Juan Islands. SHe double-majored in Art and Biology, and after more than 20 years working in veterinary internal medicine and oncology in Chicago, she chose to pursue a life more centered around her art. In Chicago, she was deeply involved in the arts scene, founding and leading a nonprofit organization called the Chicago Arts Syndicate Trust, which she continues to run as president to benefit artists.
In 2016, April and her partner embarked on a new adventure, moving onto their 37-foot sailboat and cruising from Vancouver down to Washington. After spending two years in Port Townsend, they moved to Orcas Island, living at a marina before setting off to cruise the San Juan Islands for three years. Anchoring in the outer islands, April was inspired by the stunning scenery, which she captured in her plein air watercolor paintings.
April’s artistic portfolio includes watercolors, intricate one-line drawings, and digital art, often inspired by the natural world around her. Her unique experiences as a sailor, artist, and leader in the arts community continue to shape her ever-evolving work.
