Orcas Island Made

Orcas Island is a land of dramatic contrasts. The tallest mountain in the archipelago, madrona rimmed edges at the sea, rocky beaches, and quiet pastoral lands. Tucked away in maker studios and out on display at shops and galleries, fine arts and crafts emerge from the finger tips of island makers.

Special events are scattered through out the year, from parades to workshops, to cultural festivals. And the island welcomes quests for hiking, exploring, shopping, artist tours, and enjoys hosting special meetings, weddings and memories for all ages.

The village of Eastsound is a walkable garden of art and music, Orcas Artworks in Olga and Orcas Pottery in West Beach are popular year round maker galleries. A variety of restaurants across the island, from Doe Bay to Orcas, to Westsound to Eastsound are making a mark as go-to local food destinations. Hand made jams, lotions, soaps, pasta and granola are building the local maker economy with new wines and stunning floral arrangements offering a true taste of the islands.

Upcoming Made in the San Juans programs include a new Arts & Wellness tour and retreat program designed to provide 1:1 access to artists and their studios, yoga classes, nature experiences, local farms and award winning local foods – all provided to enrich visitor’s cultural immersion.

We encourage you to enjoy and support the creative makers on Orcas through our gallery and marketplace, any time of the year. Watch for special seasonal online markets for great gifts!
