Fern Hollow Studio

Kim Bruder moved to San Juan Island, WA in 2009 after falling head over heels in love with the abundant beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She has always had immense admiration for the splendor of nature.

Kim studied graphic design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and worked as a graphic designer for various design studios and print houses for 18 years. Although this work was initially rewarding, it never fed her soul quite like her time spent in the studio painting or out photographing nature.

Since moving to the west coast she has spent many hours photographing and studying the rural landscapes, coastlines and forests throughout the San Juan Islands and beyond. Her paintings reflect the great love she has for nature and the natural beauty that engulfs her daily.
