I am a photo based artist on Lopez Island in Washington. I studied at Cornish College of the Arts where I developed my love for photography. I am constantly inspired by bright colors and textures, strange props from old thrift stores, and playing dress up for the camera.
My current work focuses on a series of character portraits that play with my interest in acting and storytelling. I enjoy creating a sense of humor and absurdity through the sets I create for the camera. I choose to use my own body as the model for my characters to give the images a strange feeling of consistency. I don’t see my work as a series of self portraits, but rather characters who happen to have the same face.
