Orcas Island Park and Recreation District (OIPRD) handles the registration and organization of recreational classes all around the island. Sports, dance, yoga, martial arts, etc. classes, programs, and services are managed by OIPRD.
OIPRD mission: “In accordance with RCW Section 36.69.10, the purpose of OIPRD is to provide leisure time activities and facilities of a nonprofit nature as a public service to the residents of Orcas Island.”
Orcas Island Park and Recreation District is a junior taxing district located in San Juan County Washington. Voted into existence by the residents of Orcas Island in November 2009, the district later received it’s first tax funding in 2012. In accordance with RCW Section 36.69.10, the purpose of OIPRD is to provide leisure time activities and facilities of a nonprofit nature as a public service to the residents of Orcas Island.
