Truly unique and fabulous hand-bound journals, sketchbooks and original art! Custom work is not available.

These blank journals and sketchbooks are made with gorgeous fine-art papers, Italian leathers, hand-marbled and hand-printed papers and discarded vintage books. Pages are hand-sewn on bands with pure linen thread.

Slow Art Studio started in a school-bus-house on Lopez Island in 1999. I draw, paint, carve stone/wood/bone with hand tools, make paper, work in fiber arts and print my own decorative papers for my books.

Come visit the bindery if you are in the San Juan Archipelago! My sweet tiny studio and home are hidden among the cedar trees in the heart of Lopez Village.
