The Tangled Tides

If you listen carefully on a misty morning, while crossing the Salish Sea on the Washington State Ferries, you might hear dulcet tones of a fiddle or three-part harmony drifting from the bow atrium. This might be The Tangled Tides.

Stina, Luke and Hannah started playing together in 2018 if and when the ferry schedule allowed, shuttling back and forth from a small town on the Olympic Peninsula where Stina and Hannah are based to Luke’s homebase in the beautiful, yet often hard to get to, San Juan Islands.

Their songs are inspired by the rugged beauty of life on the edge of the map in Northwest Washington and by the myriad struggles of charting a course through the unique challenges of this moment in history. Lush vocal harmonies and weaving instrumental lines anchor their sound as they bring the mist, currents, and depths of the Salish Sea alive.
