San Juan Island Made

San Juan Island is the westernmost island overlooking the Olympic Mountain range and Vancouver Island from long sandy beaches and madrona lines rocky outcrops. Its iconic lighthouse perches above a popular whale viewing stretch and marine researchers are at work supporting a strong environmental protection ethic. Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor have galleries of local made goods and stops at island winery, distiller and cider makers shares the flavor of the islands. The farmers market at Brickworks is a year-round showcase of local grown and local made.

The center of the island has large fields and remnants of native prairies and a patchwork of lakes and ponds. Fresh vegetables, delicious fruit, natural sea salt, heritage orchard cider, mericulture and ranchlands all contribute treasured food and a beautiful rural way of life that islanders value and protect. Guests will find larger wedding venues on the island, from elegant barns and estates to historic resorts.

Made in the San Juans is hosting a new Arts & Wellness tour and retreat program designed to provide 1:1 access to artists and their studios, yoga classes, nature experiences, local farms and foods – all provided to enrich visitor’s cultural immersion.

We encourage you to enjoy and support the creative makers on San Juan through our online gallery and marketplace, any time of the year. Watch for special seasonal online markets for great gifts!
